Double Triquetra Necklace - Trinity Knot Celtic Jewelry

$ 24.00

  • The oval trinity knot pendant (or triquetra) on this necklace is 1 1/4" long (3.2 cm) and is sterling silver.
  • A sterling silver box chain holds the pendant.

The trinity knot, or Triquetra, comes from Latin meaning "three-cornered". Each corner represents the three promised of a relationship such as to love, honor, and protect, which is why it is used to signify affection in Ireland. The three corners have also been known to represent the three forces of nature: earth, air and water or life, death and rebirth, depending on the culture.

For Christians, the Triquetra represents the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit--three persons as one God. Its three equal arcs represent equality, its continuous line expresses eternity, and the interweaving represents indivisibility and unity.
